Dr. Peter Naik Lakavath, the esteemed Chairman and Founder of the Peter Naik Charitable Trust, has been bestowed with the prestigious Rabindra Ratna Puraskar 2024 award. This remarkable recognition has been presented to him by the esteemed Veyil Foundation, in acknowledgment of his outstanding contributions as a social worker. Hailing from the vibrant state of Telangana, Dr. Peter Naik Lakavath has truly exemplified the essence of selfless service and dedication to the welfare of society.

 

Dr. Peter Naik Lakavath's journey in the realm of social work commenced in June 1994, and over the years, he has held various roles within a Christian missionary organization. From being a Trainee and Field Worker to assuming the responsibilities of a Web Monitor, Area Field Coordinator, State Area Mission Coordinator, and Spiritual Services, his commitment to making a positive impact has been unwavering. These experiences have shaped his perspective and fueled his passion for uplifting the underprivileged.

 

In 2018, Dr. Peter Naik Lakavath took a significant step forward by establishing the Peter Naik Charitable Trust, assuming the role of Chairman and Founder. Through this organization, he has been able to extend his philanthropic endeavors and serve the marginalized sections of society with utmost dedication.

 

The trust has been instrumental in providing essential support to those in need, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion. From offering financial assistance to families affected by communal conflicts and fire accidents to distributing clothes and food to orphans, the trust has left no stone unturned in its pursuit of creating a more compassionate and inclusive society.

 

Additionally, the trust has actively contributed to the construction of religious places and has played a pivotal role in raising awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse. As a testament to his exceptional contributions, Dr. Peter Naik Lakavath has been honored with an honorary doctorate in social work by the World Human Protection Commission, along with the esteemed responsibility of serving as the National Vice President.
